get in the car nergen, it’s time to go.

I had no idea we where supposed to go. But I seated myself, I trusted him 100%. We sat silent and I tried to use my broken brain to figure out the destination. My theory was: he was taking me to the outskirts of the city, where two hitmen would shoot me dead. I wasn’t afraid or angry. He did what he had to do, only way he could ensure his own safety was to do as he was told.

He parked the car, it was a short ride, maybe 10 minutes. It wasn’t the desolate abandoned industry plant I had imagined. We entered the county’s emergency psychiatric ward.

The doctors interviewed me, did some tests. I was Declared coco-banana. They gave me pills and told my friend I needed to be taken to the psych ward in the district of my permanent address. He offered to drive me instead of me going by ambulance. A one hour drive.

The anti-psychotic pills soon started to have an effect, I got very sleepy and I could feel the wickedness vaporizing away from my consciousness. It felt so fucking good, I started to realize what had happened. I fell asleep in the car, ashamed.

I was locked up for three weeks. It was great, the food was so good. I had barely eaten in a month, only boiling water, a way to be sure shapeshifters hadn’t meddled with it.

The pills worked. They made me a bit slow and sleepy. At the time an easy trade off. I was given a security net of social workers and weekly meetings with a psychiatric person. An amazing woman, I am so grateful it was her. I was set up with an apartment and told to go to a place where people with “special needs” did simple tasks. Mowing the lawn at the hospital, stuff like that. If you stayed for two hours, you got lunch. It was a friendly environment. It was Ok. I did my time.

About a year after we first stepped in to the psych ward, I had a meeting with the unemployment office. They had decided to give me a welfare sponsored employment. Like, the state pay a company ~50% of my salary and i get a normal paycheck from the company.

I was back in normaltown
